Money. For many of us there just never seems to be enough of it. The most common and most talked about way of getting more money is to simply spend less. Easy - buy less coffees, less lunches, less clothes and voila, you have more money. But what about you're spending as little as you can already and the money still doesn't stretch to the next pay check? Then, the next step is to earn more. Here are five ways you could get more money into your bank account:
Check that you're getting what you're entitled to
Particularly if you have kids you may be entitled to assistance via the working for families programme. When it comes to our social welfare system, knowledge is power (or in this case money).
Get your tax back
If you regularly make donations (over $5) you can claim your tax back on your donations. Likewise if your salary or wages have changed during the year you may have over paid tax and be due a refund.
Blog or online business
Blogs and online businesses are becoming an increasingly popular way to make money from home. You can do it in your own time, and your own home and the start up costs are relatively low. Best not to think of these as a get-rich-quick option, they still take a fair bit of time and effort. Here is how one mum is making money from her blog.
Freelancing
Depending on your current line of work and skill set freelancing can be a good way to supplement your income. You can do it in your own time, usually at your own home/location and can choose how much or how little you choose to pick up. There are loads of websites like Freelancer and Upwork that you can register with to pick up freelancing work.
Sell what you don't need
These days, most of us have far more possessions and 'things' than we actually need. Try decluttering your home and selling what you don't need or use, you'll be surprised how much money you could make from doing this one simple thing.
